M. Night Shyamalan Returns: First Trailer & Images for ‘The Visit’ Arrives

Yes it’s true, after a number of disappointingly drab movies for director M. Night Shyamalan, he’s back once again with THE VISIT, which looks like a hopeful return to the slow-burning psychological thriller he begun with but with the help of the found-footage format and INSIDIOUS team Blumhouse Productions.

It’s hard not to be slightly apprehensive regarding THE VISIT and this trailer doesn’t really bear all the markings of a classic, especially as the found-footage style has been done to death already and there’s only the minority who’ve given us a new spin. Shyamalan undoubtedly has all the right intentions but there’s an air of predictability here, so I’m going to blame trailer editing. If you’re putting together something for the director who’s not had the best time for the past 5 years or so, make it subtle, snappier…

Anyway, if you’re a fan of the genre this might well float your boat. It stars Kathryn Hahn, Deanna Dunagan, Peter McRobbie, Ed Oxenbould, and Olivia DeJonge.

Watch now:

THE VISIT opens on 11th September, 2015.
