You may remember that Fox Studios picked up Alex Raymond’s comic strip hero, FLASH GORDON over a year ago. Well, now it looks like the project is gathering momentum as Matthew Vaughn is currently in negotiations to direct.
Vaughn seems like a great choice too, with KICK-ASS, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and recent hit, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE under his superhero utility belt. The character Flash Gordon dates back to the ’30s, and spawned a wide range of media, including films, TV, new comic renditions, and of course that Queen song.
STAR TREK 3 writers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay have penned the script, while John Davis and King Features are producing.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
