Game of Thrones made its triumphant return to British televisions last night. Over 1.5 million folks from the UK tuned their television sets to Sky Atlantic to find out what was going off in the seven kingdoms. This episode aired less than 24 hours after screening in America but it seems that HBO and Sky have realised that fans just can’t wait that long. For the last few years the show has been the most illegally downloaded show in the world, and season five has already become a casualty. The weekend saw the first four episodes of the show leaked online. In a bid to prevent this pirate climate the UK will now get episodes at exactly the same time as America. The truly devoted might want to set their alarms nice and early as the show will now first hit our shores at 2am GMT.
This type of simulcast has previously been done for the finale of Lost and past premiere episodes of 24 and Game of Thrones. Now though a twitter announcement from Sky confirms that the entire season five run of Game of Thrones will get this treatment.
We’ve had a word with the boss and from next Monday #GameOfThrones will be simulcast at 2am #GoTAtlantic pic.twitter.com/9XqMZbeytG

Don’t worry if you can’t face the early mornings as it’ll still be broadcast at 9pm on Mondays. So do you think this a good idea? Will you be staying up for your Jon Snow fix?
