You probably remember Michael Edwards, better known as Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards during the 1980s, he was the Olympic skier who wasn’t quite good enough and kept finishing last. But as the only Brit in the 1988 Winter Games, he ended up appealing to underdog fans everywhere.
Fox Studio picked up the story for the big screen treatment a few weeks ago, and now Christopher Walken is on board too. He’ll be joining Taron Egerton, who plays Eddie, and Hugh Jackman, who plays Eddie’s coach. Dexter Fletcher is directing, while Matthew Vaughn is producing the feature.
EDDIE THE EAGLE looks set to hit our screen in April 2016.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
