It Started With A KISS… Gene Simmons To Produce Horror Movies With WWE!

MMDRUNA EC005

Every so often something happens in Movieland which makes perfect sense. So it is in this spirit of planetary alignment that THN learns of a powerhouse collaboration between rock star Gene Simmons and wrestling behemoth WWE. Their aim…? To bring audiences a new generation of terror!

Freshly-announced company Erebus Pictures is currently working on TEMPLE, the story of a hi-tech compound in meltdown after its AI pegs out, leaving the inhabitants sealed inside with unearthly consequences. Erebus is the Greek god of darkness.

Best known for painting his face and sticking his tongue out as part of stadium-fillers Kiss, Simmons has dabbled in filmmaking before. He’s perhaps best known for his role as an evil genius in BLADE RUNNER knock-off RUNAWAY, where he controlled an army of robot spiders. His sense of Gothic spectacle combined with the spandex-clad showmanship of his rough-housing business partners, should yield some memorable results.

Written by Matt Savelloni, TEMPLE starts shooting in the Summer. Two other movies are in development, with the second expected to commence production in late 2015.
