First Look As Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool’ Arrives

First Look At Deadpool

Following more than eight years in development, we’ve finally been treated to the confirmation we all wanted; our first peak at Ryan Reynold’s DEADPOOL in full attire.

With the leading man eager to reward the fans for their vocal support, he was quick to post the image on Twitter today and as you’ll no-doubt agree, this first photo of the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ does not disappoint.

Inspired by a similar image of a Burt Reynolds, the photo shows the wisecracking anti-hero posing on a bearskin rug in front of a blazing fire and first impressions of the costume are overwhelmingly positive.

Alongside the images release the official Twitter account for DEADPOOL was launched, showcasing the films logo, with a synopsis for the film also released:

‘Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.’

Famous for his talkative nature and penchant for breaking the fourth wall, the character has become a fan favourite since his first appearing in comics back in 1991. As such solid news of a standalone film – after a much-maligned appearance in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE – will no doubt be well-received.

Production is now said to be underway in Vancouver, with Tim Miller directing and sees T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Morena Baccarin starring alongside Reynolds.
