TFF 2015: 25th Anniversary Of ‘Goodfellas’ To Close 2015 Tribeca Film Festival

The 14^th annual Tribeca Film Festival will close on April 25 at the Beacon Theatre in New York with Martin Scorsese’s gangster film GOODFELLAS starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino. Remastered from a 4k scan of the original camera negative under supervision by Scorsese, the film’s creator and cast members will reunite at the Festival in celebration of its 25^th anniversary and to discuss the acclaimed film after the screening with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart.

We are proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary at our closing night and introduce new audiences to one of Marty’s masterpieces’.

Praised by The New York Times as ‘breathless and brilliant’ and ‘both the most politically serious and most evilly entertaining movie yet made about organised crime’, GOODFELLAS is based on Nicholas Pileggi’s true crime bestseller Wiseguy that chronicles the 30-year rise and fall of Mafia mobster turned informant, Henry Hill. An electrifying, fact-inspired tale of living and dying as a member of the Lucchese crime family, GOODFELLAS was nominated for six Academy Awards and the winner of five BAFTA’s in 1991 including Best Picture and Best Director.
