Snapshot 2015-03-19 17-43-37

Down boy, this isn’t MAD MAX but instead the first trailer for dog-led family action adventure MAX, out on June 26th, let’s hope they don’t get these DVD’s mixed up on Home Ent release, hey?!

Writer and Director Boaz Yakin brings us the tail [sic] of this precision-trained military dog, who serves on the frontlines in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott. But when things go terribly wrong, Kyle is mortally wounded and Max, traumatised by the loss of his best friend, is unable to remain in service.

Shipped Stateside, the only human he seems willing to connect with is Kyle’s teenage brother, Justin, so Max is adopted by Kyle’s family, essentially saving his life and WAIT…before we give you the whole story, you can watch more below but be aware that there’s an awful lot of story in the trailer, basically the whole film, so I’d recommend watching half of it to leave you with some surprises. If you’d like.

The kids will love it, animals lovers will (probably) love it and American’s will definitely take it to their heart as it’s perfect for those markets. Watch:

MAX stars Josh Wiggins as Justin Wincott, Lauren Graham as his mom, Pamela, and Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church as his dad, Ray.

Yakin directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Sheldon Lettich. Karen Rosenfelt and Ken Blancato served as producers, with Ben Ormand and Yakin executive producing.

Dan loves writing, film, music and photography. Originally from Devon, he did London for 4 years and now resides in Exeter. He also has a mild obsession with squirrels and cake. The latter being more of a hobby. Favourite movies include HIGH FIDELITY, ALMOST FAMOUS, ROXANNE, GOOD WILL HUNTING, JURASSIC PARK, too many Steve Martin films and Nolan's BATMAN universe.
