I’m not the biggest musical fan, bar a bit of INTO THE WOODS and ONCE, but I’m definitely a fan of Anna Kendrick’s talent and although the trailer released back in December didn’t initially have me enamoured, I think the coming spring has changed my mind as I’ve just watched it again after receiving details of the UK release date and it’s all very feel-good isn’t it?
THE LAST FIVE YEARS is based on Tony Award-winning Jason Robert Brown’s hit off-Broadway musical and stars Kendrick alongside Jeremy Jordan. It’s been announced that it’ll receive an exclusive two-week theatrical run in the heart of London’s West End at the Empire Leicester Square before being released on VOD on 1st May and DVD on 4th May. Tickets are now available for pre-booking for an exclusive two week run only from 17th April.
Here’s a little more about it and the trailer:
A touching story of heartbreak and passion, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, based on the hit off-Broadway musical, stars Academy Award nominee Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan in this honest and funny portrayal of the highs and lows of a five year relationship. Told almost entirely through song, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, which received its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, is directed and adapted for the screen by Academy Award nominee Richard LaGravenese.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS opens in the UK on 17th April, book now for those exclusive screenings.
