She’s been garnering critics’ praise, becoming the first American actress to win the Cesar Award for her role in CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA. And now it seems Kristen Stewart’s credibility with Europeans is going to skyrocket, thanks to the news she’s been cast in metropolitan master Woody Allen’s next film.
The untitled entry reunites her with ADVENTURELAND co-star Jesse Eisenberg, and also sees Bruce Willis in the mix. Eisenberg worked for Allen on TO ROME WITH LOVE, but Stewart and Willis are new to his neurotic universe. The director’s team are notoriously tight-lipped, so the script could be a comedy or a drama. The way Allen flits about in time also means the cast could end up in anything from period dress to Tommy Hilfiger.
Allen is perhaps a little busier than usual. Not only is his latest IRRATIONAL MAN (starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone) imminent, he’s also agreed to make a TV series for Amazon Prime. Meanwhile, the signing of Stewart suggests the already-world famous actress has a bright future ahead when it comes to the world beyond TWILIGHT.
