Renner Joins ‘Cap 3’ & ‘Story Of Your Life’

Jeremy Renner Hawkeye The Avengers

Jeremy Renner didn’t have too much to do in THE AVENGERS, other than be under Loki’s spell for the majority of the film, but with AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON out next month we’re sure to see even more of  the powerless but experienced archer. Not only that, but it has now been confirmed that Renner will be joining CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. This will mix it up from the source material, as Hawkeye was not present during the storyline’s original run, although he voiced his opinion after the events, and was clearly anti-Stark. However, with Black Panther and Spider-Man making their debuts in the MCU in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, this may not be the most exciting addition. Renner made his debut as Hawkeye in a very brief sequence in THOR.

The busy bee that he is has also seen Renner join Amy Adams in the upcoming sci-fi feature, STORY OF YOUR LIFE. The film, based on a short story by Ted Chiang, sees Adams as a linguist hired to unlock an alien language to ascertain the intentions of recent visitors to Earth. Renner will play a scientist teamed with Adams. It certainly sounds like a mature science-fiction film, and with Denis Villeneuve of PRISONERS and the untitled BLADE RUNNER sequel behind the camera, this is definitely one to look put for.

Renner will next be seen in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and then in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 later in the year, which is just wrapping up shooting of its finale.
