After the casting revelations of recent weeks, it’s now time for CBS to finally unveil the heroine of their new series Supergirl. We knew Melissa Benoist was the choice to bring DC Comics character Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El to a new generation, but what’s she going to look like when she’s suited up…?

Designed by Colleen Atwood, the end result is simple and rather retro in nature. The texture reflects more recent takes on the Super costume, but overall this is decidedly old school.
As the pilot goes before cameras, let’s run down what we know about the forthcoming series. The action centres on The Man Of Steel’s cousin Kara as she leaves Krypton and settles on Earth, working at the CatCo media empire under the formidable Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart).
There she’ll be romanced by Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olsen and fall foul of David Harewood’s big bad Hank Henshaw. The show will also feature appearances by familiar faces from Kryptonian TV’s past, such as Helen Slater and Dean Cain.
