With the release a mere three months away, Marvel are whetting AVENGERS fans’ appetites by unleashing a torrent of new shots from AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
The photos are a mix of action shots, behind the scenes glimpses and promo art and give you a proper look at much-anticipated characters, such as newbies Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as deadly siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, in addition to Andy Serkis, whose part has yet to be unveiled.
Let’s dive headlong into the pulpy goodness, starting with…
Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. The role didn’t get a whole lot of love first time round, as he became an odd man out against a raft of superpowers. A bloke with a bow may not have made an impact before, but on this evidence he’s getting properly stuck in.
Helping him register is the mighty Joss Whedon, who is back on writing/directing duties. As you’ll see, Whedon isn’t afraid of showing the heroes how it’s done in a variety of acrobatic poses…
A big draw is of course Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark…
His actions form a pivotal part in the events of AGE OF ULTRON and create shockwaves that will last long after the credits have rolled…
All manner of mechanical mayhem is unleashed courtesy of the movie’s big bad Ultron, voiced by James Spader.
Chrises Evans and Hemsworth seem far from chilly as Captain America and Thor…
Here’s a closer look at Evans in patriotic mode. The Marvel films have never quite gotten to grips with the look of Captain America in my opinion – they won’t have the sticky-out wings but they’ll create what is effectively a stars ‘n stripes fetish suit…?
More low key are Taylor-Johnson and Olsen…
Quicksilver is capable of superhuman speed…
Whereas Scarlet Witch’s specialties include hypnosis and telekinesis.
Here Whedon gives Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow some motivation for a scene. Either that or he’s performing a seriously lame magic trick. Her expression suggests she ain’t too impressed.
Finally we have Serkis. Speculation is naturally rife on what he’s doing in the movie, but it’s clear he’s going to be causing a lot of trouble for the superhero team.
You can view the rest of the numerous shots here.
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits the big screen on May 1st. It also stars Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.
