It’s the measure of a real icon when you can just say the name ‘Kurt’ and you instantaneously think of the late, legendary Nirvana front-man. Among the rumours, truths and lies that have circumnavigated his story ever since his untimely death in 1994 at the age of 27, there’s always been a hunger for something official to come out of the woodwork and finally, with COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK, it seems like we’ll see more of what’s behind the walls.
This look at Brett Morgen’s highly anticipated documentary, COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK, is the first ever, fully-authorized documentary that’s set to blend Cobain’s personal archive of art, music, written word, and never-before-seen home movies, with animation and revelatory interviews from his family and closest confidantes.
The executive producer is his daughter Frances Bean and will debut internationally at the Berlin International Film Festival in February. It will be released in the UK in April after an exclusive launch on HBO in the US on May 4th, here’s a hint of the style with hopefully more to come very soon:
COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK is Produced by Universal Pictures International Entertainment Content Group and HBO Documentary Films, the film will be released internationally in theatres from Spring.
