There’s been a bit of trouble surrounding Tom Hardy leaving David Ayer’s ensmeble DC villain movie SUICIDE SQUAD (apparently due to scheduling issues, though also allegedly down to rewrites reducing is Rick Flagg character), but here’s a bit of positive buzz coming from Forbes/ Latino Review. The publication(s) say that Ben Affleck’s Batman, to be seen in next year’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, may make an appearance in the movie in scenes revolving aroud Jared Leto’s Joker. The scene in question may potentially be at the end of the movie, setting up a Batman stand-alone in the near-ish future.
This from Forbes.
This would set up the Joker as a possible/likely antagonist in the solo Batman movie that’s planned in the next few years, and which I’ve heard will take some inspiration from Frank Miller’s comic book series The Dark Knight Returns — the third issue of which is a story about Batman facing off against an escaped Joker. I’m also told that Gotham City Police Commissioner Ellen Yindel (who replaces James Gordon during the comic book story) is planned for inclusion in the film.
The full article is here with no extra spoilers.
Both BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and SUICIDE SQUAD will be released in 2016.
