Sony Pictures Classic has bagged the rights to James Kent’s TESTAMENT OF YOUTH in North America, Latin America and Asia.
The British WWI drama is already showing in cinemas across the UK, and now it looks like Vera Brittain’s memoir will reach an even bigger audience. Her 1933 book follows her experiences as a VAD nurse after Brittain put her Oxford degree on hold to contribute to the war effort.
Alicia Vikander stars as Vera, and Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington plays Vera’s beau, Roland. It’s funded by a number of companies, including BBC Films, Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund and the BFI.
TESTAMENT OF YOUTH is currently showing in UK cinemas.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
