CW Renews Supernatural, Arrow, Vampire Diaries And More

Supernatural 1

The CW has steadily been building it’s fan base over the last few years, trying to work out exactly what brings the viewers in. This has been a little trial and error but it seems that they have finally mastered that magic formula as pretty much all of their shows have been picked up for another series.

Leading the pack is Supernatural which is getting an impressive eleventh season; even more impressive when you remember it should have ended after five. It will of course be a while before us in the UK can (legally) watch the show with season nine having only started airing last week on E4. The lengthy wait was caused by Sky Living deciding to drop the hit show.

The Vampire Diaries and spin-off show The Originals will both get another season, the seventh and third respectively. This announcement will be to the relief of fans as Ian Solmerhalder has previously stated that in his eyes the sixth could have been the last, of course not everyone is destined to survive to the end of season six… surely they wouldn’t kill Damon off? The Originals continues to go from strength to strength, a relative first for a show spawned by another.

It isn’t just the supernatural that the channel embraces though, oh no, they also love their superheroes. Arrow has been confirmed for a fourth run, which surely means there was more to that mid-season finale cliff-hanger than meets the eye? The Flash, which is currently in it’s debut season has also been picked up meaning that we have at least another year with the super-speedy Barry.

Other shows renewed include Reign, Jane the Virgin and the HUNGER GAMES-esque The 100.
