David O. Russell’s protracted film ACCIDENTAL LOVE is finally getting released in theatres and you can have a sneak peak at what to expect below and, so you know, it’s not technically his film anymore and goes under the director’s name of Stephen Greene, which may be made up.
The comedic political satire was shot by Russell way back in 2008 before he quit the project in 2010 and before filming his award winning films THE FIGHTER, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, and AMERICAN HUSTLE.
Plagued by production problems, ACCIDENTAL LOVE centres upon Alice Eckle (Biel) who is accidentally shot in the head with a nail gun just as her boyfriend Scott (James Marsden) proposes to her. Refused treatment because of her uninsured status, her predicament leads her to Washington DC where she meets clueless senator Howard Birdwell (Jake Gyllenhaal) who takes up her cause for treatment.
ACCIDENTAL LOVE opens in theatres on 10th February 2015.
The film also stars Catherine Keener (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS), Tracey Morgan (TOP FIVE), Kirstie Alley (KIRSTIE), James Brolin (CASTLE) and Paul Reubens a.k.a. Pee Wee Herman.
