Universal Move Paul Greengrass & Matt Damon’s ‘Bourne 5’ To 2016

We say moved but in truth it’s still in the early stages so it makes a lot of sense, but Universal have stuck their communal neck out to give us a July 29th, 2016 release date for Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon’s highly anticipated return.

We’re not sure yet what this does to Aaron Cross and that Renner chap (as he rumoured there might be a team-up of some kind) but the return of both parties feels like a positive move, even if we’re not sure where it’ll go next. The script comes from Christopher Rouse, who has worked with Greengrass on the editorial side since THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM but his first official foray into the other side of proceedings.

Universal have given it the catchy title of Untitled Next Bourne Chapter at the moment and supposedly all three had the idea of where they’d go next and now we’ll find out in 2016 when they go up against SUICIDE SQUAD and STAR TREK 3.
