It appears that CHAPPIE wasn’t the only project director Neill Blomkamp was working on in 2014, after a number of ALIEN-esque concept artworks were posted on his Instagram page yesterday.
Whilst Blomkamp and Fox have both confirmed that the work has nothing to do with a studio reboot of ALIEN, it appears Blomkamp decided to take a stroll anyway through Ridley Scott’s original world and thank God he did, because conceptually, it looks pretty bloody amazing!
The nine renderings include Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley suited up in a xenomorph head piece, a mangled Corporeal Hicks (originally played by Michael Biehn), a spaceship located inside Weyland-Yutani headquarters and screaming xenomorph queen.
