James Franco and Jonah Hill are set to take a dramatic turn in Fox Searchlight’s upcoming drama TRUE STORY.
Premiering at Sundance next month, TRUE STORY is based on journalist Michael Finkel’s memoir about the case of convicted murderer Christian Longo, who assumed Finkel’s identity for weeks whilst on the run from the police and their subsequent communication after Longo’s capture.
Jonah Hill plays Finkel, the disgraced New York Times reporter in the film who is contacted by Longo (played by Franco) in an attempt to get Finkel to agree to investigate and reveal the ‘real story’ of his family’s murder and win him an acquittal.
Directed by Rupert Goold who also wrote the adapted screenplay with David Kajganich (THE INVASION), the film also stars Felicity Jones, Robert John Burke (2 GUNS), Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), and Ethan Suplee (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET). Watch below:
TRUE STORY is scheduled for release in April 2015.
