‘The Walking Dead’ Spin-Off Heads To Hollywood

the-walking-dead

I’ve just managed to polish off the latest episode of the bloody fantastic AMC series The Walking Dead, and am currently sat typing this in anticipation as to what 2015 will bring  for the Andrew Lincoln led zombie drama. Well, we know that it’ll have it’s remaining eight episodes of season five air in the first part of 2015 (starting February), and it will get a spin-off sometime in the future too. We’re hearing this evening that the spin-off, which doesn’t currently have a title, will start shooting in early 2015, and will be set… in California.

There’s a ton of interest in other locations of the ‘Walking Dead’ universe that may exist, and it looks like AMC are directing their attention to the vast Metropolis of Los Angeles for their spin-off, which is rumoured to be a prequel set during the early days of the zombie-outbreak. We know no more than that, and can’t confirm an air date, but I’m guessing that they’ll unveil some footage at next year’s San Diego Comic Con, as the show has a massive prescence at the convention every year. I’ll also guess at a mid-late summer air date to slot between seasons of the main show.

Cliff Curtis (GANG RELATED), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter ) and  Alycia Debnam Carey (McLEOD’S DAUGHTER) lead the cast. David Erickson is acting as showrunner on the project while Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert executive produce.
