When the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES reboot was first announced we were all dubious. When released it was disappointing to see that although the film captured some of the spirit of the cartoon series it was lacking in many aspects, namely the titular turtles. Unfortunately the foursome were kept predominantly in the shadows leaving Megan Fox’s April O’Neil to carry the film. Despite this the movie took a whole lot of box-office cash, even managing to temporarily topple GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY from the US number one film spot. These days money of course equals sequels and work on a TURTLES follow-up in already well underway.
The biggest news so far? Well it has to be the fact that Shredder’s bumbling henchmen, punks turned Rhino and Warthog, BeBop and RockSteady will feature. When we spoke to William Fichtner before the first films release, we of course asked about the duos inclusion but he had no idea what we were talking about (see the video footage here). Now though it seems that the filmmakers are on-board with the idea of bringing the pair to the big-screen, but who should play them?
TEENGAE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 is currently pencilled in for a 2016 release.
