The ever reliable source that is The Daily Mail in the UK are reporting that Joss Whedon is to reassemble his Avengers for reshoots on next summer’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in January in London to capture “a bit more kick-ass on an extravagant scale.” The article says that the new additional shooting days will apparently require Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki). All of the shooting will take place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire (just outside of Slough).
Baz Bamigboye, who penned the report, also had the following to add.
Later next year, Avengers 3 and 4 will shoot back to back, most likely at Pinewood in the UK.
Avengers 3 and 4 is, of course, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART ONE and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART TWO, which will round out ‘Phase 3’ of the Marvel Studios motion picture series. The first part is set for May 2018, with the second to follow in May 2019. Seems a bit too soon to start shooting later this year for a potential release 3 and a half years from now?
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015.
