The Hollywood Reporter has finally secured the official news that Breaking Band and The Walking Dead director Michelle MacLaren has signed on the dotted line to direct and develop the DC/ Warner Bros. solo Wonder Woman movie. The film, which will see Gal Gadot resume her role of Wonder Woman from the upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, will be produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.
MacLaren will help develop the script for the film, which currently does not have any writers attached. WONDER WOMAN will be one of the first times a female director has taken on such a big-budget, effects laden project; which is great news.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits cinemas in 2016. WONDER WOMAN is due in 2017.
