Matt Damon confirmed on Friday during a recent red carpet interview that he will be reprising his role as Jason Bourne in the next Bourne film.
‘Yes, next year. It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. (Director) Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.‘
Collaborating for the third time with Greengrass (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM), the casting news was revealed by Ben Affleck. And what are friends for.
Damon previously appeared in the first three instalments of the Bourne franchise as CIA Assassin Jason Bourne whilst the fourth film, THE BOURNE LEGACY, centred upon CIA agent Aaron Cross played by Jeremy Renner (KILL THE MESSENGER). The franchise is based on the successful spy series written by Robert Ludlum.
