Universal are intent on rebooting their very famous series of monster movies, which include The Mummy, Wolfman, Frankenstein, Dracula, Invisible Man etc, and it will all begin in 2016 with Alex Kurtzman’s vision of THE MUMMY, which will arrive in cinemas in the June of that year. The big news this morning is that another ‘monster’ movie has been penciled in for the following year. Here’s the press release
A new epic action-adventure in a series produced and overseen by the creative team of Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek series) and Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious series), the UNTITLED UNIVERSAL MONSTER FRANCHISE FILM will follow The Mummy in their new initiative to revive and reimagine Universal’s classic monsters for a modern audience.
Besides THE MUMMY, we also had this summer’s DRACULA UNTOLD, which may or may not fit in with the new series. So, which of Universal’s famous monsters are you interested in seeing next? Got to be The Wolfman right? The second film aims for cinemas on 26th April, 2017.
