Fassbender To Take Bale’s ‘Jobs’?

Michael Fassbender

The makers of the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic aren’t letting the grass grow under the footprints of recently-departed star Christian Bale. According to reports Michael Fassbender is now the favourite to take the part, with the actor currently in talks to become the Apple of director Danny Boyle’s eye. Already boasting the eclectic line up of Boyle, writer Aaron Sorkin and producer Scott Rudin, the movie is being adapted from Walter Isaacson’s book about the revered software magnate.

All being well, Fassbender will sign on alongside Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak. Sorkin is taking what sounds like a decidedly theatrical approach to the material, with the script split into three “real time” sections, each set behind the scenes of a different product launch show. Does this corporate success story have what it takes to become compelling cinema? Time will tell, but with a broad range of talent on board JOBS should get to the core of this influential figure.
