This Christmas will see a film adaptation based on a meme. Grumpy Cat, so called because she has a permanent grumpy expression on her face, became an internet sensation with the repeatable catchphrase “No!” Now Lifetime have made a movie of everyone’s favourite grumpy looking feline, detailing the events of her worst Christmas ever. Voiced by Aubrey Plaza, and starring Grumpy Cat as herself, the trailer is surprisingly funny, making reference to the fact that it is a lifetime movie, as well as containing some pretty irreverent humour in the form of British Grumpy Cat.
Surely no one can resist a festive animal film, which is probably why I managed to find 4 dog related Christmas films in Poundland this weekend. Not to mention the upcoming/brand new DVD releases of SANTA CLAWS, A BULLDOG FOR CHRISTMAS, SANTA AND ME, and of course THE THREE DOGATEERS SAVE CHRISTMAS. Hopefully GRUMPY CAT’S WORST CHRISTMAS will also be shown here in the UK, it would be a true Christmas miracle.
