“Sometimes, the best man for the job…is a WOMAN!” The tagline may sound like some spoof trailer maybe viewable in South Park (preferably starring Rob Schneider), but after Marvel blew away yesterday with announcements galore concerning upcoming films and casting, we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Agent Carter will be an 8 part miniseries that will screen on ABC in the US on Tuesdays. It follows AGent Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, after the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. Who knows what kind of evil she’ll be facing in the WW2 set thriller series, and how it’ll tie in to the established Marvel canon. Dominic Cooper returns as Howard Stark, who is framed for selling weapons to the enemy and enlists Agent Carter’s help. James D’Arcy also stars as Stark’s butler Edwin Jarvis, a man whose name is later used for Tony Stark’s AI butler.
