The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies Poster

Here’s the latest poster for the final film in the trilogy based on a single book. THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES will pick up where the last film left off, as we saw dragon, Smaug (thank god I don’t have to pronounce it in type), head towards a small town on a course of destruction. It will also probably tie up some bits and bobs between this trilogy and LORD OF THE RINGS. The latest poster just seems to be clips and stills from the film, Photoshopped on a canvas with little imagination. Which is a bit if a shame. What’s even more of a shame is the fact the film will still try and pass off HFR as if it was a thing. HFR (High Frame Rate), still makes films look incredibly tacky and cheap, even big budget productions like this.

I’m still not sold on THE HOBBIT films. The last two were fine, but that’s about it. I would have much preferred a shorter more jovial adventure than the bloated trilogy we’ve been given, and it certainly won’t be getting as many re-watches as LORD OF THE RINGS.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES is released on 12th December in the UK and on 17th December in the US. It stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Fry, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, and Orlando Bloom.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
