There has been talks of a sequel to the superb zombie comedy ZOMBIELAND for many years now; almost since the original bound its way into cinemas and achieved instant cult status. Well, now it looks like plans for the film are coming along quite nicely, and the original movie’s helmer Ruben Fleischer, also looks like he might return to the director’s chair.
Sony Pictures has also hired Dave Callahamto (THE EXPENDABLES) to come on board to write the piece, according to Deadline.
ZOMBIELAND was released five years ago in 2009, and starred Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as a motley crue of survivors attempting to outlast a zombie outbreak.
The news comes following a failed pilot for a potential TV Series which was set to run as an Amazon Original Series. Amazon released the pilot on their network back in 2013 amongst many other potential series starters, but the feedback was far from positive.
