While it’s surely the consensus that Christopher Walken will make a successful Captain Hook, the chosen setting of a live TV musical is going to lend a surreal air to his performance when NBC broadcast it in the run up to Christmas. Executive producer Neil Meron has Tweeted the debut image of his leading nasty in full regalia alongside Allison Williams as comely nemesis Peter Pan:

A lavish new version of a production from 1954, Peter Pan Live will be shown Dec 4th. It’s the closest thing America has to a panto season, which inevitably brings to mind Al Pacino’s Baron Hardup and Kevin Spacey’s Sheriff of Nottingham.
