John Travolta and Kate Bosworth will be starring together in a Vancouver based movie that follows the lives of linemen (and women?) – the workers who climb the wires above our heads to fix the electrical grid.
It’s been a while since Hollywood scaled the pylons. The last film to feature high-wire work was SLIM THE LINEMAN in 1937, which starred Henry Fonda.
Shooting is about to start at the end of September for the indie project, which is costing Marro Films and Elite Film Productions around $10-12 million. We don’t know a huge amount about the story yet, but it looks like after a massive storm, the sparks will fly for the loves and lives of these workers.
SAW film veteran, David Hackl directs, while Devon Sawa joins Travolta and Bosworth. Travolta is currently shooting IN A VALLEY OF VIOLENCE, while Bosworth will soon be appearing in SOMNIA. More when we hear it.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
