First Pictures From ‘Taken 3’

TAKEN was a surprise box office smash that cemented Liam Neeson as an unlikely action hero. It’s still a surprise to me, considering how genuinely awful I found it. However, the masses have spoken and after the success of TAKEN 2, along with the likes of Neeson action films such as NON-STOP, A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES, and UNKNOWN, it’s time to go back to the character of Bryan Mills in TAKEN 3. This time we find Mills (Neeson) framed for murder, forcing him to go on the run. Quite who is going to be ‘taken’ is still unknown at this time. Neeson had this to say about his upcoming return:

I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me.

Olivier Megaton returns to the director’s chair after taking over from Pierre Morel for the second film in the franchise. The film is bound to stick to the formula that has proved so popular with so many, but let’s also hope for something a little different. After all, by the sounds of the plot, Mills might actually have to show some restraint if he’s battling innocent people.

TAKEN 3 is released on 8th January 2015 in the UK and 9th January 2015 in the US. It stars Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Forest Whitaker, Dougray Scott, Sam Spruell, and Leland Orser.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
