‘Godzilla 2’ Writer Confirmed

GODZILLA which was released this year saw the iconic movie monster return to form after the shambles that was Robert Emmerich’s film. Directed by the wonderful Gareth Edwards, the film garnered a lot of critical acclaim and, more importantly for Legendary Studios, took a whole heap of money.

A sequel was quickly announced, as was the fact that Edwards would be returning. His return won’t come until his STAR WARS spin-off movie has been released though. This of course gives them plenty of time to create the perfect sequel, something that the studio is very keen to do. Although just under four years away from hitting our screens, GODZILLA 2 has secured its writer. Max Borenstein, who penned this year’s venture will add this project to his already sizeable Legendary workload. The writer has just finished SEVENTH SON, and is currently working on SKULL ISLAND, a film which got both its leading man and director earlier this week.

With Borenstein in charge of both Kong and Godzilla could this mean that at some point in the future we’ll be treated to another KING KONG VERSUS GODZILLA movie? GODZILLA 2 is slated for a 8th June 2018 release.
