For a heavyweight actor Morgan Freeman has certainly thrown his weight behind some (shall we say) diverse projects, proving himself as unafraid of a big paycheque as he is a meaty part. For every SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION there’s a HARD RAIN. But his next film could straddle the two stools with a confirmed involvement in TED 2.
Writer/director Seth MacFarlane is further tottering the tower of the scatologically-inclined bear sequel by reportedly casting Freeman as “an iconic civil rights lawyer who comes into the picture when Ted needs to resolve some legal issues”. So it looks like the Oscar winner will be satirizing his ‘worthy’ status as well as poking a couple of hornets’ nests with an especially pointy stick.
He joins Mark Wahlberg, new co-star Amanda Seyfried and Ted himself for the Universal/MRC production that’s due to be released next June.
