As we all know, KON-TIKI helmers Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are turning their artistic hands to making the next PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie, and if rumours are to be believed, Orlando Bloom may be joining in them in the fifth adventure. This rumour comes via the Daily Mail in the UK, so please do take it all with a pinch of salt, but they do say that Blom himself commented on a return at the Oz Comic Con over the weekend.
“There have certainly been some discussions about it and I’m open to it,” he said. “That whole experience working with Johnny (Depp) and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity (to be in the first Pirates) was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift.” He added.
Bloom appeared in the first three Pirates movie, but was left out of the last film.
The fifth Pirates movie’s full title is rumoured to be PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. Johnny Depp will definitely return as Captain Jack Sparrow, while a return for Geoffrey Rush and Keith Richards are also rumoured. It will be released in 2017.
