If, like us, you have been in absolute awe of the casting choices of Broadway’s Hedwig And The Angry Inch the next one might just might your jaw drop…Ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall will be taking over as Hedwig in October!
The Tony award winning show has been going from strength to strength since its debut with Neil Patrick Harris, and is still managing to keep the audiences coming in with Andrew Rannells (despite the dip in the big bucks). But starting October 16th Michael C. Hall will be donning his best wig and high heels to take on the role.
But why such a short term from Rannells? According to producer David Binder, it was all in the agreement:
“Our agreement with Andrew was always for eight weeks, and I am super excited about having Michael C. Hall take over.”
Hedwig and The Angry Inch tells the story of a fictional rock band fronted by a transgendered rock star from East Berlin. The book and lyrics are by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, while Michael Mayer directs the show. It is currently playing at the Belasco Theatre, New York.
