Every now and then there’s a trailer that doesn’t look like the rest and that title this week goes to THE SCRIBBLER.
The film centres around Suki (Katie Cassidy), a young woman confronting her self-destructive mental illness using “The Siamese Burn,” an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities with a whole lot of electricity going through you. The closer Suki becomes to supposedly being cured, she suddenly gets the thought… what if the last unwanted identity turns out to be her?
With the visual elements of SIN CITY and SUCKERPUNCH, this looks like an intriguing new take on the beast within but with a fresh, new take. The tagline they’re using is ‘Unzip Your Head‘ which makes me assume there’s a whole host of twisted elements to come. I approve.
Directed by John Suits, THE SCRIBBLER is based on the graphic novel written by Dan Schaffer, and also co-stars Sasha Grey, Michelle Trachtenberg, Eliza Dushku, and Gina Gershon. Watch it below and let us know what you think:
THE SCRIBBLER has received positive feedback via various film festivals and is looking at a Home Entertainment release in the USA from 21st October.
Dan loves writing, film, music and photography. Originally from Devon, he did London for 4 years and now resides in Exeter. He also has a mild obsession with squirrels and cake. The latter being more of a hobby. Favourite movies include HIGH FIDELITY, ALMOST FAMOUS, ROXANNE, GOOD WILL HUNTING, JURASSIC PARK, too many Steve Martin films and Nolan's BATMAN universe.
