‘No Good Deed’ Goes Untweeted In New Movie Game

Idris-Elba-No-Good-Deed

Looking for an innovative, highly dangerous way to start your week? Well why not head to Twitter and take part in #TweetToEscape, an interactive game based on forthcoming thriller NO GOOD DEED starring Idris Elba and Taraji P.Henson. Following the launch of a multi-pronged Instagram account to promote the film, Sony Pictures/Screen Gems have now hit the hashtags to deliver users a suspense-filled choice with every post. Here’s the introductory Tweet below…

The game follows the movie plotline, that sees a high-powered Mum (Henson) and her children caught in a trap after welcoming a photogenic stranger (Elba) into their home. He turns out to be an escaped murderer, which doesn’t bode well for the soft furnishings. While studios have utilized social media in many ways before, this appears to be the first time such an immersive experience has been created solely for one release. The Twitter campaign is a “Choose Your Own Adventure”-style effort, though it could be a case of fighting fantasy if the initiative doesn’t take. Meanwhile the Instagram project is more of a puzzle, with a combination of images and videos used like a trail of breadcrumbs to draw the by-now square-eyed player in. Looking at the story of NO GOOD DEED I’m not sure there’s the depth for this extensive cyber-journey, but kudos to the makers for trying to break new ground.

Having hopefully worked audiences up into a frenzy, the source of all this button-pushing will be hitting cinemas on September 12th.
