UK Trailer For ‘Annie’ Remake

Little orphan Annie is set to return to the UK this Christmas season. Quvenzhane Wallis, famed for her role in BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, takes on the part of the titular hero who has A Hard Knock Life in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). One day Annie has a fateful encounter with Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx), a rich man running for mayor. Seeking a publicity opportunity, Stacks takes in Annie only to eventually develop real feelings for her. The heart warming tale first came to screens in 1982 and has built quite the following, especially following Jay-Z’s use of the famous track It’s A Hard Knock Life. Other musical classics include Tomorrow, it’s easy to see why Chandler Bing had two copies.

The trailer for Sony’s remake keeps things both traditional while adding contemporary spurts to both the action, dance routines, and music. It also seems as though Jamie Foxx has learned from his near death experience in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Pay it forward and all that.

ANNIE is released in the US on 19th December and in the UK on the 26th December. It stars Quvenzhane Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and David Zayas.
