It has been recently confirmed that the lead actor for TV spin-off of 90’s horror franchise, SCREAM, has been recast in the form of Arrow‘s Bex Taylor-Klaus.
MTV’s production of the iconic film was already in place and set to go, until later on after a table-reading of the script with the cast. Originally, Amy Forsyth from TV show Defiance was meant to take on the leading role, but she has now been swapped in favor of Taylor-Klaus. The actress, better known for her character Sin from Arrow will play Aubrey Jensen, a loner who aspires to be a filmmaker.
It will be interesting to see what direction MTV will be going with the story, due to the many antagonists that played Ghost Face in the film were targeting Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) mainly because of her Mother’s dodgy past. It’s safe to say the subject of films and horror references won’t be gone, which made Wes Craven’s films so enjoyable to watch.
Will it be meta just like in SCREAM 3 where it presented a story of its own film production? Stab: The Series anyone? Lets see what MTV has in store when it lands on our TV screens in 2015!
