After his award worthy performance as a raccoon, Bradley Cooper looks set to possibly ignite his own franchise as the character of Mack Bolan. Bolan, also known as The Executioner, has appeared in over 600 novels since his first appearance in 1969. Created by author Don Pendleton, Bolan travels the world fighting terrorists, and has also taken on the KGB and the Mafia. Todd Phillips, whom Cooper worked with on THE HANGOVER trilogy, is set to direct, which may suggest a more comical tone given his track record.
There’s certainly a lot of material to take from, and Shane Salerno is the one responsible for coming up with a script. Salerno wrote ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM and is on board to pen AVATAR 4. Cooper is no stranger to action, having been one of the titular THE A-TEAM and recently finished work of Clint Eastwood’s AMERICAN SNIPER. Exciting stuff, so let’s hope they adapt every single novel faithfully.
