Today we’ve got the first clip from A MERRY FRIGGIN’ CHRISTMAS, the last movie that the great Robin Williams filmed before his saddening death, and it echoes a similar vibe to the more indie projects he’d been taking on more recently including a distinct touch of WORLD’S GREATEST DAD.
Directed by Community’s Tristram Shapeero, it’s written by Phil Johnston, who’s work includes WRECK-IT RALPH and CEDAR RAPIDS. This short clip shows us Mitch (Williams), giving advice to his grandson on alternative treats for Santa after they’ve eaten all the milk and cookies! Here’s your official synopsis:
Boyd Mitchler and his family must spend Christmas with his estranged family of misfits. Upon realizing that he left all his son’s gifts at home, he hits the road with his dad in an attempt to make the 8-hour round trip before sunrise.
Check out the quirkily disturbing first clip below:
A MERRY FRIGGIN’ CHRISTMAS opens in November, it also stars Joel McHale, Lauren Graham, Candice Bergen, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Pierce Gagnon.
