I love the different kind of projects that Elijah Wood takes on and once again it looks like he’s out to prove that he can play any genre and find a great character, this time it’s in Nacho Vigolando’s OPEN WINDOWS – the man behind TIMECRIMES and EXTRATERRESTRIAL.
This web-based thriller finds Wood playing Nick Chambers, a man who wins a date in a contest with actress Jill Goddard (Sasha Grey). However, she refuses to have the dinner and Nick meets ‘Chord’ online and makes an offer he can’t refuse: the ability to view Jill secretly via computer. Nick begins watching the unknowing star on her webcam, not realising that this decision will put both himself and Jill at risk as they enter a terrifying world of cat-and-mouse where nothing — and no one — are as they seem…
This debut trailer holds all kinds of creepiness and kinda mixes up some of SCREAM 4 alongside many of those found-footage type revenge thrillers but, saying that, does also appear to find it’s own little niche. Check out the trailer:
OPEN WINDOWS also stars Neil Maskell, Iván González and Nacho Vigalondo himself. Check out the creepy poster here and the film, and director, will also grace Film4’s FrightFest this August Bank Holiday.
It opens officially in the States on 7th November and on VOD on 2nd October. In the UK, we’ll get it on 17th October!
