The Oscar winning actor will star as the famous magician in a new mini-series for the History Channel. Houdini will feature the magician’s poverty-ridden upbringing and his worldwide success as a master magician and escapologist.
Harry Houdini was world renowned for his death defying escapes such as being buried alive, escaping from a sealed milk can and the infamous ‘Water Torture’ illusion. He also spent much of his life trying to debunk psychics and mediums. On his death bed in 1926 he told his wife Bess that if there was life after death he would try to communicate with her. After his death his wife Bess spent the rest of her life performing yearly seances to see if her late husband would contact her, he never did.
Adrien Brody will star alongside House of Cards actress Kristen Connolly as Bess and Evan Jones will star as Houdini’s assistant Jim Collins. From what we see here, this could be a great series with Brody a perfect choice for the legendary magician.
The four hour mini-series is due to air in the US on the History Channel on the 1st September, a UK date is yet to be confirmed. Watch now:
