Eli Roth’s cannibal horror THE GREEN INFERNO has had it’s release date postponed as Open Road Films has dropped the film. The film would have been Roth’s first directorial feature in six years and was originally due to be released on the 5th September this year.
This doesn’t look good for the film as it has been left in movie limbo. According to sources, the delay is down to financiers Worldview Entertainment not putting up the money to fund the marketing.
The film which is also co-written and produced by Roth is along the same veins as CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, with a group of American students kidnapped by cannibals in the Amazon. Fans of the “torture porn” director will be no doubt disappointed. However Roth is currently working with Keanu Reeves on new thriller KNOCK KNOCK about a man whose life is about to be turned upside with the arrival of two mysterious girls.
