Trailer Lands For Guantanamo Bay Drama ‘Camp X-Ray’

Back in July we brought you new stills from the Guantanamo Bay drama CAMP X-RAY, directed by Peter Sattler and starring Kristen Stewart. Now we return with the trailer which gives us a far better look at what’s in store.

Set in post-9/11 America, Kristen stars as Private Amy Cole, a young woman determined to make something of herself in the US Army. However, instead of being sent out to Afghanistan she’s assigned a role as a guard in Guantanamo Bay. While facing hostility from many of the prisoners Amy manages to strike up a friendship with Ali Amir (Peyman Moaadi), one of the detainees, as the pair attempt to come to terms with their separate – but intertwining – situations. Julia Duffy, Tara Holt, Cory Michael Smith, Lane Garrison, Joseph Julian Soria, John Carroll Lynch and Yousuf Azami co-star.

This looks like it could get emotional especially considering the focus and topic. It could also mean that Stewart really gets to prove herself as a versatile actress, showing off a strong but sensitive side we haven’t really seen before.

CAMP X-RAY arrives in US cinemas from October 2014.
