If there’s one thing I think everyone remembers from their childhood then it’s LEGO and the infinite possibilities of building awesome stuff! Well, after The LEGO Movie, we’ve seen this amazing GHOSTBUSTERS set and now they’ve stepped up the game again with these truly radical TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES sets that celebrate the movie out now in North America and hits the UK this October 17th.
I’ve always been a fan of these four heroes in a half shell, I even joined the Fan Club, and these three exclusive LEGO movie tie-in sets are just in time for the new film. Our four ninja Turtle-friends are back to embark on new adventures taking on the Foot Clan and their leader Shredder, with a little help from Splinter and that certain reporter…April O’Neil. If that wasn’t enough, evil Clan member Karai makes an appearance to add a hint of danger to the mix. These daring dudes are out to buy now, Cowabunga Dude!
You’ll be able to create your own Ninja battles with these three, all-new official TMNT sets; speed through the streets with the Turtle Van, save April from the clutches of the evil Karai and protect the Turtles’ sewer lair from a Foot Clan attack! Here’s what you’ll be looking for and our verdict? They’re super-fun to not only put together and for both the kids and the adults, nostalgia right through to a whole host of new entertainment. Who wouldn’t want these four fantastic amphibians back in their lives?
Of the three sets that you can buy via this link, we first built the Turtle Van Takedown, which is a sturdy-van along with a security gate, one of those pesky Foot Soldiers and a device (just) strong enough to hold Mikey – but can Raphael save him? Check it out:
You’ve also got the Big Rig Snow Getaway, which comes with April O’Neil, Raphael, Leonardo, Karai and two Foot Soldiers. This mighty vehicle features a super-slick SUV and a huge Big Rig truck with a mobile lab inside, it’s pretty darn special and a real proper challenge to put together but worth every moment.
Finally, LEGO’s pièce de résistance (Haven’t we heard this somewhere recently?) and it’s the truly interactive and massive Turtle Lair piece. This comes with a lot of parts and pieces that creates a great immersive experience. There’s a surveillance room where you can keep an eye on Shredder’s manoeuvres, ladders, trap functions, and even if the Foot Soldiers discover the hidden door, you can elevate the slide behind it to drop them in the prison. Pick up your favourite now, and we think it fits in pretty nicely with the Turtle environment.
For all things LEGO, we’d love it if you could share your work over on our Twitter by just using the hashtag #TurtlesLEGO and show us what you’ve got!
It’s available to buy now right here: LEGO.COM/Turtles
